Our Mission
It is our mission here at Angel Ink Tattoo School is to help each and every student to attain their dream of becoming a licensed tattoo artist. We are committed to identifying each student's individual style of learning that will allow them. to reach their artistic and professional goals. Admission Requirements
Qualifications for prospective students who are eligible for admission are as follows:
a) High school diploma or GED
b) Must be at least 18 years of age
c) Must have an interview that will include the art portfolio assessment
and current photo ID
There will be objective planning prior to enrollment to determine prospective students current artistic style and how Angel Ink can best meet the program needs of the prospective student.

Course Outline
Based on the requirements out in place but the Oregon HLO, this course is designed to take a total of 360 hours.
The minimum requirements are:
- Client Services - 20 hours
- Design, Art and Placement - 10 hours
- Safety & Infection Control - 40 hours
- Needle & Needle Bars - 20 hours
- Tattoo Machines - 20 hours
- Equipment & Supplies - 20 hours
- Color Theory & Pgments - 10 hours
- Skin - 20 hours
- Business Operations - 20 hours
- Oregon Laws and Rules - 10 hours
- Discretionary Hours - 10 hours
- Execution / Practical - 150 hours and at least 50 procedures
In this course of study, students will receive written instruction, teacher demonstrations, and guided practical experience under supervision.
Students must complete all theory hours prior to practical work/procedures being performed on any person.
All training is conducted under the supervision of an Oregon licensed tattoo artist registered as a teacher by the Higher Education Coordinating Commission.

Always! We are always encouraging prospective students to come in and set up a school tour. Once we receive your application, you'll be put on the waitlist for the next available class.
While in school we provide;
- a rotary style tattoo machine
- a base set of needles and pigments
- stools
- armbars
- tattoo chairs & beds
- lights
- all disposables necessary for an appointment.
Students can bring their own supplies and are encouraged to purchase what they need outside of the basics provided.
In order to get your license, you must a bloodborne pathogen and CPR certification. These are an annual/bi-annual costs to artists, although we provide some cheaper courses, it is an extra out of pocket costs.
There is also a fee to take the license test and an annual fee to renew.
Once our students hit their practical hours and procedures, they are allowed to work on anyone who is at least 18 years old and with a valid id. While in school, students often tattoo themselves, family and friends, other students and staff, but we encourage students to start building their client base while in school.
Our students do not take walk-ins, but if you are interested in being tattooed by one of our students you can always call the shop and we can help get you connected with one.
Like our professionals, each students has a different rate and style.
Our course is designed to take a total of 360 hours (210 theory/150 practical)
In total our course can take between 4-6 months.
Once our course is completed, students must test at the Oregon Health License Office in Salem to receive their license.
Appplicants are required to provide
- Two forms of original identification issued by a government agency that must include the applicant's current legal name and one must be photographic.
- Submit proof of being at least 18 years of age.
- Submit proof of having a high school diploma or equivalent education. If you attended a school outside the U.S., you must have your education evaluated for equivalency.
- Submit proof of a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification (CPR), basic first aid training, and blood borne pathogens training.
- Pay all required fees.
- Provide documentation of completing
Once you graduate our program, we will send your transcript to the Oregon Health License Office in Salem. If you have already completed your bloodborne pathogen and cpr training you can test for your license. We cannot guarentee a space in the shop after graduation, but we do our best to connect our students with potential shops.
